Kurt Kiser | Performer

Kurt has performed at the Cactus Theater since 1995, either as master of ceremony or as an actor in various Cactus Stage Productions: "Heavenly Country," "Holy Rock 'n Rollers," "West Texas Music - The Play," “Your House or Mine?," "On Golden Pond," “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” and “ Father of the Bride." After a 12 year absence, Kurt returned four years ago to local TV as a news anchor at Fox 34 and anchors the News at Nine with Jeff Klotzman. He has also appeared in several TV ads. Kurt grew up overseas; nine years in Venezuela and five years in Australia before moving to Illinois for high school.  He attended Southern Illinois University.  In 1982, he moved to Texas, and adopted the motto “Yankee by birth – Texan by choice.”  Kurt is the single father of three sons, 31 year old twins, Chris and Jason, along with 17 year old Colton, a senior at Frenship High School.  Kurt is proud of his three granddaughters who affectionately know him as KuKu.  After living in Odessa for ten years, Kurt has called Lubbock home for 20 years.
