Robert Earl Keen

Singer-songwriter and entertainer, Robert Earl Keen has recorded 18 full-length albums for both independent and major record labels, while his songs have also been covered by several different artists from the country, folk and Texas country music scenes (including George Strait, Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett, The Highwaymen, Nanci Griffith, and the Dixie Chicks). Keen’s albums and live performances span many different styles, from folk, country, and bluegrass to rock, and Americana. Additionally, although Keen has toured extensively both nationally and internationally throughout his career, he has long been heralded as one of the Lone Star State's most popular and consistently acclaimed musical ambassadors, leading to his induction into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. Robert Earl Keen reached the #2 spot in Billboard's 2015 Year End Top Bluegrass Artists chart.
Robert Earl Keen has built a reputation as one of the nation’s finest musical story tellers. He has been guided by several self-imposed rules and traditions that are often the antithesis of music industry standards. It’s a formula that has worked well for Keen since he began performing in 1981 and paving the way for a generation of songwriters and performers who make a living on the road. Keen returns to the Cactus Theater for what promises to be a fun and wild night!
