The Cactus Theater presents two of the HOTTEST Texas Country bands in the region as a Tech postgame show – Saturday, October 19!
Jason Nutt and Highway 70 is a Texas Country band based in the Lubbock area. Formed in 2007. their first album N. Clinton Ave. was released in 2010 and Blame It On Me and Runnin' To You quickly captured peoples ears and became heavily played on regional radio. In 2011, they quickly followed up with their second album All Kinds of Country EP. What Happens Next, really pushed the band further in being known on the scene. It made it onto the Texas Radio Charts and performed well!
In 2012 they took a step back from touring for various reasons. But, Jason couldn't seem to keep himself off of the stage, continuing to play acoustic on occasion and was blessed to open for many big acts across Texas.
In 2018 they cranked it back up full band and are back at it! They found a way to balance music, family and everything that is important to them! Excited to share their new songs with the world recording an album that will release in October was recorded with 2 new singles released to give a taste. In the past couple years the guys have been blessed to share the stage with William Clark Green, Pat Green, Matt Martindale, Adam Hood, Randall King, Josh Grider, Cory Morrow, Casey Donahew, Kody West, Shooter Jennings, The Hogg Maulies and various other artist.
This group is a country-rock duo made up of Corbin Burgett and Chloe Fowler. Both grew up with the dream of being a musician, and after meeting one another, they decided to chase their dreams together. They started by playing together at South Plains College on the Tom T. Hall stage, and from there played stages all over the Lubbock area. They really got their start in the Texas music scene by playing locally and they continue to pack the house both in Lubbock and in Dallas. You can catch them playing all over the Lone Star State on stages and you might even see them in Oklahoma and New Mexico!
Chloe’s country roots mix perfectly with Corbin’s love for 80’s guitar to create TexWestus’ unique sound. Their song “Somebody Like You” can be heard on Red Dirt radio stations all over Texas and their EP “West Texas Wind” can be found on all your favorite music streaming locations.
