The Day The Music Died: A Tribute to Buddy Holly

Join the Cactus Theater in remembering the late, great rock 'n' roll innovator that put Lubbock, Texas on the music map - our own Buddy Holly.

You'll relive the memories as we present his all-time greatest....and a few surprises, too!

On this anniversary date of the tragedy that shook the music world, we pay tribute to the music and memory of the young man whose influence helped define what became the template for bands to follow.  He set the standard for the self-contained, four-piece rock ensemble -  writing and producing his own material.  We'll recall the songs that defined his meteoric rise to stardom and salute the songs that made an indelible mark on history.  We'll take you on a journey from his earliest days in Lubbock...to Clovis...and on to the "string sessions" and the "apartment tapes" recorded in New York.

Vocalists on this tribute include Jason Fellers, Kenny Maines, Jeff Bailey, Avery Guyear, Haley Simpson and Amber Pennington....and all are backed by our own masterful, backing musicians - The Rhythm Machine.

Tickets to this tribute are only $20 for reserved seats on the floor; $15 for balcony seats.

Join us for a memorable night as we salute the one and only Charles Hardin "Buddy" Holly in the cozy confines of the Cactus Theater....located appropriately enough, on the street that bears his name.

Forget Buddy Holly?  "That'll Be the Day!"
