The Legendary Song Jammers is a group of seasoned West Texas musicians with a long history of performing with well-known artists from all over the country. The group consists of lead singer and bass player Jerry Brownlow; lead guitarist Steve “ Gittar” Williams; pianist, guitarist and vocalist Cary C Banks; and drummer and vocalist Curtis McBride. Having performed several successful Merle Haggard tribute shows, the group’s most recent endeavor is a tribute to legendary singer and songwriter, Marty Robbins.
Jerry Brownlow
Jerry Brownlow began performing at an early age as a member of the Brownlow Family Band. Jerry is a prolific singer songwriter and, as a member of the Maines Brothers Band, was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame. Jerry’s composition, “Break the Fall” - recorded with the Maines Brothers band - has been a perennial crowd favorite for decades. Additionally, Jerry is a well-known and respected radio personality and his familiar voice has been heard on countless radio and television commercials. Jerry currently hosts a daily radio show on KSSL radio as well as his ever popular “That’s The Gospel” Christian radio show on Sunday mornings. Cary C. Banks
Cary Is professional singer/songwriter/musician and formerly Professor of Music and Chairman of Creative Arts Department at South Plains College. As a member of The Maines Brothers Band was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame, has been awarded a Silver Telly Video Award for his work as co-host and featured artist on PBS Series “Storytellers & Music Makers”. Cary has performed with well-known artists including; Terry Allen and Panhandle Mystery Band, Lubbock Texas Rhythm Machine, Richie McDonald, Heath Wright. Tom T. Hall, Dixie Chicks, Bo Diddley and many others. He is co-author/producer, with Wade McNutt, of piano teaching book and video series “Play Piano like a Pro”. Steve Williams
Known to his many friends and fans as Steve “Gittar” Williams, Steve is Associate Professor of Music at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas and his career has spanned several decades, beginning as a young teenager, with his first band, “The Blackouts”. Over the years, Steve has performed and recorded with such well-known artists as Marcia Ball, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Dale McBride, Terry McBride and many others. Curtis McBride
Curtis McBride a has been a part of the West Texas music scene since the 1960’s, playing drums in local bands and later with dozens of successful artists performing in some of the biggest nightclubs in Hollywood, Nashville, Las Vegas and all over the USA. Curtis has performed with some of the Southwest’s most notable performers including; Larry Trider, Kenny Vernon, Jay Boy Adams and Bobby Albright and Boot Hill Express. Curtis’ talent has been featured on legendary recordings by the Maines Brothers Band, Terry Allen and a host of other successful artists. In addition to performing with the Legendary Song Jammers, Curtis is also a member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church Band.
