Come join us in celebrating the 82nd Birthday of Lubbock’s rock ‘n’ roll icon, Buddy Holly at the historic Cactus Theater with “A Tribute to Our Buddy”. The show will be opened by Austin, Texas, group The Bruce Smith Band. Smith's original song - inspired by Holly - called '59 Stratocaster - is included on his fifth album, "'Til the Wheels Fall Off." Original rock 'n' roll and Holly-inspired tunes will highlight this opening set. To headline the celebration, Lubbock’s music giants, Jason Fellers, Sheena Fadeyi, Jeff Bailey, Lesley Sawyer, “The Soul Man” Butch Avery, Avery Guyear and the Caldwell Collective band will pay their tribute to the late and great Charles Hardin “Buddy” Holly.
There is no place in America that Buddy’s music can be recreated better than in his hometown, Lubbock, Texas. Each of these amazing artists put their own special touch on Buddy’s timeless songs. Many artists worldwide have covered Buddy’s material throughout the years, but none better than this group of cutting edge singers.
Reserved seats throughout the entire floor and standard balcony of the theater are $20. Tickets are $40 for the balcony box (includes concessions).
