Between them, Radney Foster and Darden Smith have released over two dozen albums, written hundreds of songs, played thousands of shows and logged millions of miles getting there and back. They met and became friends back in the late 1980’s and through the ups and downs of life and careers they have maintained a strong love of two things: songs and stories (along with family, good food, jokes, and the occasional glass of good bourbon).
And now, both Radney and Darden have released books. Foster’s “For You To See The Stars” and Smith’s “The Habit of Noticing: Using Creativity to Make a Life (and a Living) are very different creations, but both reflect their heritage as Texas storytellers -- and their ability to connect with a deeper meaning behind everyday life.
For this evening, Foster and Smith will join each other on stage to sing songs, read selections from their books, tell the stories behind both, and do their best to make each other (and the audience) laugh, cry, and get lost in the mystery behind the process of two of Texas’ great songwriters.
