Enjoy the classic romance film “The Notebook” starring Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner and Gena Rowlands - preceded with heavy hors d'oeuvres - at the historic Cactus Theater (1812 Buddy Holly Ave). Doors open at 5 pm with food served adjacent to the stage/screen up until the film starts at 6 pm. Note: Single tickets are available for all packages and online ordering allows purchase of 1 or 2 tickets.
If you wish to include dinner after the movie which ends at 8:05 pm, you’ll select the second package - which includes heading over to Lubbock's 4-star MCM Eleganté Hotel & Suites (801 Ave Q) for a delicious dinner for two AFTER THE FILM.
A third package includes a romantic evening in a king suite with breakfast the next morning!

• $49 / couple for hors d'oeuvres before the movie and film screening at historic Cactus Theater; (a single ticket is also available);
• $189 / couple for hors d'oeuvres and the movie and Beef tenderloin or alternate dinner choice at the hotel after the film;
• $299 / couple for hors d'oeuvres and the movie and exquisite dinner choices at the hotel after the film; a king suite for overnight stay and breakfast the next morning;
Dinner options at the hotel (after the film) include:
8 oz West Texas Ribeye or Herb Baked Chicken Breast, Twice-baked Potatoes, Steamed Vegetables, Soup, Salad Bar, Dinner Roll, New York Cheesecake and your choice of Red or White Wine or Champagne.
Room package will include an Atrium King Suite that includes a complimentary hot breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order the following morning.
About the Film Screening:
The Notebook is a 2004 American romantic drama film directed by Nick Cassavetes, from a screenplay by Jeremy Leven and Jan Sardi, and based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s. Their story is read from a notebook in the present day by an elderly man, telling the tale to a fellow nursing home resident.
The Notebook was theatrically released in the United States on June 25, 2004. Despite generally mixed reviews from critics, Gosling and McAdams were singled out for praise for their performances. The film was a sleeper hit at the box office, grossing $117 million against its $29 million budget, and has become a cult classic in the years since its release.
The film earned several accolades, including the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for Gosling and McAdams at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. At the 11th Screen Actors Guild Awards, James Garner was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Gena Rowlands won Best Supporting Actress – Drama at the 9th Golden Satellite Awards.
